Yes, this is going to be a rant, so please prepare.....

I want to walmart this morning with 2 things in mind
-get a Sticky pad(s)/ or some shelf liner in black to keep ahold of tuba
-Get a USB cable to connect recorder to laptop for lesson with Roger Bobo saturday

I admit, I did look kind of shady this morning (face was not washed as I was just woken out of bed by mom who said "'let's go"), but that does not excuse this employees behavior.
I was in the electronics section, and she (a middle aged black women), came up to me and asked me if I needed help.
TheTuba: "Yes, do you have a sticky pad"
Employee:"what is that"
TheTuba describes sticky pad
Employee"Sigh"
Employee escorts TheTuba to a corner with NO STICKY PADS
Employee:"Anything else?"
TheTuba:being nice but kind of getting annoyed"No, Thank you!"
TheTuba:looks around for 5 minutes with no sticky pad, gives up and walks to the cable section
TheTuba:unsuccessfully looks for cable for 10 MINUTES
TheTuba:Looks up, and finds Employee STARING at him
At that point,I felt really hurt and annoyed that she thought I was a stealer. All my life, I have never stolen, and try to be honest as much as possible. To brand me because of my looks really hurt me.
TheTuba:Walks OUT of the section
Employee:"Excuse me!"walks over to TheTuba
Emloyee:"What do you have in your pocket!"
TheTuba:empties pockets and looks at her the entire time
Employee:"Im very sorry(obviously wasn't), have a nice day!"
TheTuba:picks up dollars on the floor, and walks away
TheTuba:looks back and finds employee in the same aisle
At this point, I was in a completly DIFFERENT part of the store. She works in ELECTRONICS, not HOME
TheTuba:Tries to find shelf liner for 2-5min, each time looking back and finding employee trailing him
TheTuba:hurries to mom and FINALLY employee turns away

any comments walmart?

It is sad this type of judging people buy their appearances still goes on. When I was a boy nearly half a century ago I went with my Grandfather who was a plumber (and did fairly well financially) after work to buy a VW buss. The employees didn't pay him any attention while he was standing by and looking over one of the vehicles he had previously test driven and wanted to buy. Finally a salesman came over and asked him if he could help him, my grandfather said yes I want to buy this car, and proceeded to pull out a large wad of cash to pay for it. You should have seen the looks on the faces of the sales people. Just goes to show don't judge people by appearances.

I had that happen to me in a Walgreens that was having theft problems. I had it happen to me in a Ross that was having theft problems. I did not go back to either store. I buy online now as much as humanly possible.

You gotta learn to have fun with these people. Lead them around the store a wild goose chase and then ask them stupid,annoying questions about something really irrelevant like shoe laces or a box of crackers . Really waste thief time and then just leave the store.
