If you have a gmail account, you can get 20 GB of storage for free. I pay $20 a year for 100 GB. I think Microsoft will give you 5 GB on One Drive for free. Either can be used like dropbox.

WeTransfer might be the sort of thing you're looking for.

It's intended more for file transfer and not so much as a storage location, but you can send files up to 2GB for free and without any registration. If you just need a way to occasionally send out large files, it's not a bad way to go.

I use Box.com (used to be called ‘box net’). It’s free for personal use. You can store pdf, mp3, m4a, pics, etc. You can share links to separate files or folders for download or streaming.

I think we are all aware of this: nothing is free. Ask yourself what the service is getting from you if they are not charging you money. Read the fine print.
