Pronunciation

Post by bort »

In regards to tuba sizes, how would you speak/read these sizes:

3/4
4/4
5/4
6/4
BAT

Recently, I've heard a few different takes on how to pronounce these. I always thought there was a consensus, but maybe there's not? (just like there's no real consensus to the 'sizes' themselves) Sorry if this is a dumb question!

So with my four four tuba, would I have trouble playing in 5/8?
Yup -- you'd need a much smaller horn for that! :P

no, but you'd sound like you were rushing every couple of beats...

To sound rushin' every couple of beats, you need a St. Pete.
