I would trust him with any instrument I own... and have.

Kevin Powers is about the best there is for repair. He can fix any problem even if it involves inventing a new part for the tuba so that something will work better. For instance his uniball linkage for rotary tubas is better than any stock linkage I have seen. Quite a few professionals will have their horns flown to Kevin's humble shop to repair.

I realize this is an old thread, but I wanted to bump this thing back up because of the amazing job that Mr. Powers did on the three tubas that I had brought to him in order to be repaired (all in just over an hour, too!)

He is an amazing guy, and an expert brass technician. I recommend him to anyone who can make it over to his shop. It is definitely worth the drive. I wish I had the "before and after" pictures for the forum.

That's a Hirsbrunner HB-2 CC.

Like many of the folks before me, I cannot say enough about Kevin's excellent credentials. IMHO, you would not be sorry with any work he would do for you.
