At least on browser, there should be a way to jump down in the timeline. Once you've scrolled far enough to hide your cover photo, a sort of toolbar will show at the top. If you select the dropdown that says Recent, you can jump to certain years.

I'm not certain what tar paper smells like and wonder where one would get the experience.
