Anyone can fly a rocket into space. I'd like to see someone fly a Yorkbrunner into space...

Can't see the actual tuba body, but the bell is sticking out of the bottom of the rocket!! In fact, I think there are nine of them. Couldn't hear them either, due to the rapid burning of rocket fuel right next to them!!! Typical orchestra technique.

Catching up with the ISS is just a practice run. Elon only recently learned that the tarnished old , big, silver tuba with "York" in the engraving that he stuck in trunk of his red Tesla roadster that he blasted into solar orbit is actually CSO York number 3 and worth big bucks. Next mission - catch up with the roadster, extract tuba and bring it home.

This. Also more competent in business than baby NAME picker outer, although read that naming was mostly done by baby mama herself.

Oh, and Starship is definitely silver NOT lacquer!
That thing is damn cool

I just want to know how a rocket lands itself butt-first on a ship in the ocean that has to be moving up and down and whichever way, and stays there upright for the trip back to the harbor. I notice we did not get video of that.
I also noticed that the astronauts were "only" along for the ride and had no control whatsoever (have dear friend who is retired manager of the Space Division at NASA, and get more better info from him than is possible elsewhere.)

It’s still the most amazing part of the mission. The rest has been done.

The rocket appears much smaller than the Titan type booster of old also.

One article I read recently said that the current mission of the Space Station crew was basically to keep it from falling apart. I love space and sci-fi and and all that, but this just seems like a giant money pit.

OTOH, the Space Force show on Netflix with Steve Carrell is pretty funny.

It's still research, right?

Most research is a money pit until you find something to monetize and sell to the public.

Its pretty much just math as it has always been. Musk is just the only person at the current time investing in this particular outcome to save money recycling rocket boosters.
Is the goal to recycle/reuse these, or to prevent other countries from fishing our rockets out of the ocean and stealing the technology?

Re-use is part of the plan.

The capsule recovery was cool in it’s own way.

Instead of being picked up by a freaking aircraft carrier, it just gets plucked out of the ocean by something not much larger than a commercial scallop dredge!!

I wonder what the first tuba excerpt played in space will be. Early money is on The Ride, but I think good money could be made on the opening RVW lick.

Could be, but I'm thinking The Jolly Farmer Goes To Town.

"We shot a rocket into space......"

Anyone remember this from MAD magazine?

What would the tuba version be?
