anyone remember a coiled plastic insert being sold as an airflow fix in. tuba slides?

Around 2000, I bought one of these “gimicks” (recommended to me by Sam Pilafian, he said it helped his fourth valve) for an F tuba and it worked, but whether it was placebo or not I don’t know…. it was this coiled strip of plastic with cut outs on one side, you would coil it up and insert it so far into the straight part of your slide and let it uncool to fit. then the idea was it created some positive air flow disturbance that was able to address articulation and getting a note to “speak” better. You had to adjust where it was in the slide to get optimum results. Does anyone remember what that was? or if. you can find them anymore? Just a curiosity.
