IIRC, it was somewhat difficult to find metric sized (19 mm I.D.) yellow brass inner tubing to match the metric sized (20 mm I.D.) nickel silver outer tubing - did you find a source for it, and if so, do you mind sharing? Thanks!

Can't you just lay the outer tube on a stone with the end bit with the fancy ring hanging off the edge? I can't imagine that tiny amount making that much of a difference in alignment....?

I can actually see them as being an aid in keeping the two tube ends on the same plane (hook the ring right over and against the edge....)
