IIRC, it was somewhat difficult to find metric sized (19 mm I.D.) yellow brass inner tubing to match the metric sized (20 mm I.D.) nickel silver outer tubing - did you find a source for it, and if so, do you mind sharing? Thanks!
I can actually see them as being an aid in keeping the two tube ends on the same plane (hook the ring right over and against the edge....)
Can't you just lay the outer tube on a stone with the end bit with the fancy ring hanging off the edge?
