While I wait for the moderators at the Trombone Forum to create my account so I can post there, I thought I might try here.
I have a 72H (bass trombone with 1 rotor) with a rotor casing damaged beyond repair. Any suggestions for a replacement? (parts not available from CS) The bore is .5265"

It sounds like the perfect opportunity to slap a Haggmann on it.

I have found that Getzen parts are of a similar size

The Conn 88H has a .547" slide but is .562" through the F loop. Could be the same rotor and those should be available from Conn-Selmer. I just looked at the C-S parts website and they show zero stock but surely it wouldn't take long to get one. At any rate... their parts folks should be able to tell you if it will work.

One possibility is another valve from an otherwise wrecked 72h. Otherwise I'd go with a completely different setup like a Thayer or Hagmann. You might also want to make sure the valve is in fact unrepairable. I don't know where you're located but I highly recommend Scott Sweeney of Sweeney Brass here in Raleigh, NC. He's a great technician for all brass instruments but being an excellent bass trombone player himself, he's especially good with trombones. He's worked on several of my horns (tubas and trombones) and I highly recommend him.
