1918 Conn Eb helicon

By chance, I am now the owner of a 1918 Conn Eb helicon. It has been "rode hard and put away wet" with dents on dents, slides with dents, major dent in bottom bow, and well, you get the picture. All valves work, slides are free-moving and there are no obvious holes in the metal. It does make sound like a tuba. My not-an-expert-tuba-repairman opinion is it would have to be taken apart for dent removal, etc.

Question for the TNFJ: is it a candidate for overhaul/restoration or just a wall hanger?

How are the Pistons as far as plating? If it is tight, get it restored and use it.
