Yes. They're either too long or not long enough!
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

For community band, I have had great success when playing Am. Bari, or Euph, or both, with a Denis Wick SM Ultra 6. I have two: one for small shank (baritone/trombone size) for my Wessex BR115 (Wessex version of the American "hybrid" bell-front instrument) and a medium shank for my B&H 3-valve comp. The SM Ultra 6 is essentially a 6 1/2 AL but with a little deeper cup to avoid graininess in the low register, but not so deep a player can still give it proper breath support in the upper register, and the middle register just sings. Sings.
