Just installed a MTS trigger on one... First time doing this kind of work.
(video is before the slide lapping, goes up by itself now

).
Do we know what in the design is causing that awful intonation?

Yes. They're either too long or not long enough!

For community band, I have had great success when playing Am. Bari, or Euph, or both, with a Denis Wick SM Ultra 6. I have two: one for small shank (baritone/trombone size) for my Wessex BR115 (Wessex version of the American "hybrid" bell-front instrument) and a medium shank for my B&H 3-valve comp. The SM Ultra 6 is essentially a 6 1/2 AL but with a little deeper cup to avoid graininess in the low register, but not so deep a player can still give it proper breath support in the upper register, and the middle register just sings. Sings.
