Tubing for Reynolds Contempora MTS?

Hi repair/mod fans,

I would like my local tech to lengthen the main tuning slide on my Reynolds Contempora model 170 (the big one: tall, .687 bore). Where can I find tubing for this? My tech checked around bit (Allied?), nada.

Here are the measurements, near as I can tell (no calipers):
- Both slide legs are currently 3 & 3/16" long, at least the visible part.
- Tubing thickness 1/32"
- Smaller diameter leg OD 45/64", ID 43/64"
- Larger diameter leg OD 48/64", ID 46/64"

Thanks,
Eric L.

King BBb sousas have the same .687" valveset bore, and they are much more common. Maybe your local tech could order a King 2350 MTS if he doesn't have the part, or you can't find it from a junked King sousa? I believe the 'regular' Jupiter BBb sousas also have the same bore size, so that would be another option for main tuning slide parts for your Reynolds

The tubing is roughly the same size as king. The small side is just a tiny bit off of King tubing internally, but thicker. The large side is also just about the same as King, but the metal is thick enough that the Reynolds slide won't go into a King tube. It is, however, possible to replace all the inner/outer tubing with the stuff used on King. It might take a little fitting work, but it is very possible.
