Have you taken a good look at the horn? From what I see in the photo it doesn't really look all that bad (besides all the "carnage" around it). I'm sure that the valveset might be a bit screwed up and that it would need a good cleaning, otherwise it could be a "functionable" tuba (although not a pretty one without dent work and re-finishing).
Well, you could always tell insurance that it was completely destroyed... what would stop you from keeping the remains?
