Classic B&S F tuba for sale

Post by tubalex »

I am selling my pre-Perantucci B&S F tuba. This horn has a phenomenal sound and projection which puts most modern big F tubas to shame, though the sound is very tight and works great for solos and chamber music.

Without dropping specific names, this horn was owned/used by a very prominent American tubist in a top tier orchestra for years. I have used it with two major American orchestras, advanced at a recent orchestral audition with it, and have given well-recieved solo performances on it, as well.

This comes with a custom music hard case. Please email for pictures. Asking $4800.

How many valves? I assume this has a lacquer finish.

5 rotors. 5th is in the left hand, and is the longer slide (low B-flat is 2,3,5 etc-took me a week of snedacors to make the switch).

the tuba is laquered but most of the finish is gone. this tuba has seen a lot of action, and for good reasons.
