FOR SALE Lacquer Yamaha F Tuba 822 w/ case SOLD!!!
Great all around horn. I have consistently played this horn for the past 13 years and LOVE it. It use it in all BQ settings and almost all freelance gigs where a big tuba would overwhelm. I have performed frequently on this tuba the following "Big Tuba" parts: Meistersinger, Bydlo, Symphonie Fantastic (both parts,) Tannhauser, VW Tuba Concerto, Gregson Tuba Concerto, etc. I am looking to get a smaller F ' ier horn. Serial number 10008* I have no problem from below the Low F to D, and up to the high Bb. Has a great high Ab (useful for gregson), a great Low C, (so great you'll find yourself wndering if this is a CC Tuba!) and Fantastic Intonation all around. I use Doug Elliott Tu N, Sheridan S2, also Shilkie 67. I use to use a PT 65 S, but not so much anymore.
Condition very good, scratch on bell ( tuba christmas.music stand..yung kid..) various very small scratches and tiny dings. No major work done.
Plays wonderful, 4 piston 1 rotor.
I picked this from a batch of three, and it was a tough call between two of them. I can't recall playing a stinker ever though!!! Case is yamaha stock molded case
Asking Price $ 6600 w/ case
Serious inquiries, Pics PM

The Yamaha 4/4 Professional F Tuba
The Model 822
The Yamaha 822 is possibly the closest thing to an all around horn This instrument is quite capable of working in solo performances, quintet, large ensembles, even full symphonic bands and orchestras. The 17.5" bell produces a big sound that carries well with little effort and the low register is so easy to play, the other musicians won't even know you're playing an F tuba. You might even have trouble convincing yourself, that you're playing an F tuba.
