WTB tuning slide assembly for a boosey & hawkes Eb

Post by ken k »

hello fellow tubenetters,

I was wondering if any of you repair-types would have an old tuning slide assembly to an old Boosey & Hawkes Eb tuba laying around in your bin of spare parts. A tuning slide assembly to a newer Besson 980, 981 or 982 would probably work as well.

When I bought my Boosey, the guy had cut the tuning slide because the horn was flat. I would like to restore my horn's tuning slide to its original length and perform a "Parker Cut" on the rear branch. I need the outer and inner tubes.

I would prefer original parts rather than making them from scratch, but that may be my only choice, since getting parts from Boosey/besson right now is a bit hard to do.

I haven't tried to contact Buffet-Crampon about Besson parts lately but they were supposed to working on getting their act together. You might try:
