I have had the instrument for eight years and bought it in new condition from my bass teacher. He brought it originally but decided he could not give up his old bass. The bass has no identifying marks as to a maker (no serial number, paper inside the body etc). My teacher told me that it was a gift from his wife so he really did not know much either. The bass is not plywood but solid. The end pin and the bridge are adjustable. The sound post needs to be moved about an inch I just have not gotten it done. As far as the action I have kept it pretty low. I have put a chip in the scoll but all in all the bass is in good shape it just needs a good home and to get played more often.
I hope that helps
