Think hard. Once it's gone, it's gone. Times will change and you will need a horn. I remember what you went through getting that one -Remember "The KIng! The King!" ??? Remember all those posts about making the valves perfect??? Remember the discussions about keeping it polished??

Oh, man! Selling your main musical instrument, whether tuba, guitar, etc., is almost like selling one of your children. No road is so long without a curve or turn. Like the rest of the guys said: give it a year to see how the new job progresses.

In 1997 I encountered hard times having a car repossessed and had to pay a bank quickly before they sued me in court. I looked sadly hard at my Mirafone 186 5U CC, but yeilded to the need and sold it. I went without a tuba for almost 9 years before a mere coincidence found me playing tuba again.

I agree with the rest. Keep the horn and see what happens. When you have a horn that is 'just right' for you, none other will ever be the same.

Horns I don't regret parting with:
Very few, not listed to avoid offending anyone.

(Will probably really regret the Weimar the next time I need a small CC.)

Tuck - I remember seeing that beautiful horn when you played with us in Southlake. Keep it, let it collect dust, 'cause you'll regret selling it when you get the chance to play again.
