Postby BassBass » Thu Jun 21, 2012 7:03 pm

Hi there,

I will appreciate if I find a good King EEb 1210 front/top action or a York EEb front/top action.

You'd have much better luck finding a top action and converting it to front action

Lee Stofer has a York for sale here:

There is also one in raw brass on ebay:

Bob also has two Kings (not sure the model number) here

Given the amount of labor involved involved in converting from top to front (you need to flip the horn) and/or a new valve section, you'd probably be better off finding someone who has already done the work. (I apologize if you do this kind of work routinely but I've sen people take on more than they can handle and it never ends well; i.e. over budget, over frustrating, etc.)

The York on fleabay is a BBb! The seller didn't post any picture of the backside, but you can still see the extra loops of large tubing behind the major outer branches.

Depending on the size of the York... there's this York:

Compare an actual Eb to the "Eb" on fleabay, yes they are different sizes - the actual Eb is the small (better intonation) and the fleabay one is definitely a BBb.

If I were looking for a project horn EEb, I would have a serious look at the Conn "Donatelli" that's on sale by Frank Ortega.

It looks like it's in great condition and the owner might have a couple parts that could help you with your project.

Yeah that's my bad... I didn't take the time to actually look at the picture other than to confirm its identity as a tuba
