Sell and Buy equipment not on eBay

Hey were starting a small neighborhood band and were in need of a sousaphone, for a fairly cheap price,,,, we don't really care what kind it is or the condition... As long as it's playable or needs little to be playable...I'm in a cheap budget since I'm 17 but let me know what you have...thanks Email me at. firstname.lastname@example.org
I think you might have to be beyond lucky to find the cheap mail-order sousaphone, if only because they're hard to put in the mail. (I'm including this "wanted" initiative in that category since you didn't reveal your location.)
If your area has any repair shops that work on school instruments, make friends with them. Find out about school auctions, other band programs (I bought an Eb from the local office of the Salvation Army, which I wouldn't have guessed still existed.)
Well... I'm not looking for a free sousaphone... Im looking for an older horn around $300 and I will pay for shipping.... I'm in fort worth Texas. And to the guy that said he's gonna outbid me by puting wanted:free sousaphone,,,,, don't be IGNORANT.. I'm not looking for a free horn and im looking for an affordable sousaphone so if your not gonna help please don't reply with something dumb..thanks
You're dealing with a bunch of guys here who are mostly quite a bit older than you, and smarter, to judge by your writing skills; something to bear in mind. My suggestion would be to roll with it. You're going to run into the same thing at the repair shops, older guys who don't owe you anything.
I would suggest looking at this site
I have not delt with this instrument shop in the past. I just happen to stumble upon it in my search for tubas. If you scroll to the botton you will see sousaphones for 1,470.00 is the cheapest I saw. You might be able to talk them down. I would be very cautious with ebay, just too much risk involved in my opinion.
I hope this helps.
