I have for sale a PT10P (older small valve set) that I am looking to sell. This has been the only F tuba that I have played over the past 19 years. I have played this horn professionally in orchestras, brass quintets, and as a soloist. Except for the lacquer wear, the horn is in good shape. It does have a small patch on the 3rd valve slide that was put on a few years ago but it hasn't been any problem since then.
To be honest this horn is pretty spectacular. It was originally bought at Custom Music in 1996 by a David Graves who played every F tuba in the store and felt this was the best instrument out of all the different models they had in stock. It is a good combination of the sound of a traditional B&S F Tuba with the low range ease you find on a piston F. The sound is light and clear and isn't tubby at all. I am selling it because I have been thinking of changing to a MW2250TL for the past 3 years and it is time to pull the trigger.
I am asking $6500 for the tuba and a Walt Johnson flight case. I will pay for shipping via Greyhound but I would ask a buyer to cover paypal fees if uses. I also have a used Altieri gig bag for the horn that I can include but the buyer would have to cover shipping since I would have to send it separate.
If someone has a 2250TL they are looking to move and want to work out a trade I would also entertain that idea.
