FS Besson 3 valve compensator
I'm putting my 3 valve besson up for sale. Its a small shank, 4/4 sized compensating tuba. Many of you are familiar with these beasts, and know just how well they play. It cleans up very well, dents and all, however, has a few problems that need some attention. The brace from the top of the bell, which connects in to the body, has snapped. the right side of the bottom bow (player's perspective) needs some dent work, and soldering. The second, and main tuning slides are frozen. the brace connecting the main tuning slide has come undone as well. With all that said, the tuba still plays very well. intonation is spot on, everything slots really well, and it sounds massive. Another thing to note, are that the valves look great. There is a little bit of plating wear on the first and second valve, but all in all these valves are nice. The action is butter smooth, with no drag at all.
