Conn 2J CC Tuba with case for sale SOLD

Post by Scott Roeder »

I am selling a Conn 2J tuba. I really like the sound of this horn and the differing colors that I can get from this horn compared to my other tubas (PT6&PT10p). However I find myself not playing it very much right now. I am asking $1800 for the tuba and a hard case. I will pay for shipping via Greyhound.

Every time I see one of these up for sale I try and figure out a way to pick it up. It's not going to happen this time either. :(

I don't know Scott or this particular horn, but, I just re acquired my old 2j.these horns are sweet.i'm using mine for teaching, quintet, and the sound is so pretty it's gotten me wanting to play solos.light, compact,American made. A great value if you need a horn in this size class.

Here's how I've coped with no 5th valve:I've been using the horn like a 3 valve if I have to play some low f's. It has a really long top facing third slide and fairly long 1st. I play d 1+3+ long 3rd pull and c# 123+ long 3rd pull.if low f needed, I pull the very long bottom facing 4th slide way out and leave it,pull 1st a few inches and play low f 1+4. If no low f's, set 4th halfway between in tune low d and in tune low c#.keep in mind this is used for quintet and teaching solo rep to college kids,so no huge need for loud low register.

Do we know if this is still available? The OP hasn't bumped it since October 2015.
