Sold: Mirafone 188 CC + flight case $6,250

For sale is a Mirafone 188 5-valve CC. Tuba is from the early to mid 1980s and has the long 5th valve. Lacquer is about 98% with some light scratches from typical wear and tear on the bottom bow and near where the arm rests against the horn. A couple dings and one small dent on outer bow guard, otherwise in really fine shape.

Rotors have the individually adjustable "Presto" tension system, which is neat and works well on this tuba. They can be adjusted to be as light as typical Mira rotors or with a bit more resistance if you prefer. The rotors themselves are fairly quiet; stop arm linkage has been updated to Dubro. First valve has been vented and the slide has been lapped to a near-trombone smoothness for easy adjusting.

Intonation is excellent, typical 188 no-brainer. Asking $6,250. Horn comes with Altieri gig bag and heavy duty Unitec flight case. Located in Louisville, KY and can ship through Greyhound (buyer's expense) or meet you somewhere in between. PM me or email b.taylor90 at gmail dot com.
