I'd thought I'd put a message out there to see what interest (if any) there is. I'm thinking about selling my Rudy 5/4 CC. It's from approx. 1970, with four rotary valves. This is the BIG Rudy, the forerunner of the current 5-valve model. Almost perfect condition, doesn't look its age. There are 2 or 3 dings (no dents) in the bell, and one ding in the 4th-valve tuning slide receiver on the back (could be fixed easily). Very tiny ping on leadpipe. Absolutely no other dents or defects on the horn. Usual lacquer wear for a horn this age, especially around the contact points. Asking $5500, includes old Altieri bag. This tuba is in too good of shape to ship, so a direct pick-up would be necessary. I live in Wichita, Kansas (zip 67207). This is a great horn; the only reason I'm selling is it's too big for me. You'd be hard-pressed to find another Rudy (or any tuba) this age in this good of shape! Email nick@gemas.us for pics.
Almost forgot to add---valves were given a minor overhaul in February, so they work great! Intonation is good; I do absolutely no slide pulling.
I WOULD ALSO BE INTERESTED IN A TRADE; EMAIL ME FOR DETAILS!
Rudy 5/4 CC possibly for sale
