Wanted: Martin UPRIGHT Bell

Post by AndyL »

Anyone have a Martin upright bell they'd sell? I need one with the 7 7/8-inch mounting collar.

Condition not too important if it's restorable.

I play a Martin tuba w/recording bell in community band and would like to have a Martin upright bell.

Please email me privately with condition and price.

Thanks.

I may have something with holton stamped on it in the garage, but until I find it and measure it, I'll point you at Lee Stofer's blog here:

Try contacting Zig Kanstul at Kanstul Musical Intruments. He has a bunch of factory second bells from their G Contra Bass bugles sitting in the back of the shop. They just have minors flaws that can be repaired easily, but they wouldn't put them on new horns. These bells are 21" across with just about the right size smaller end for what you need. I was there yesterday and was asking him about them. I kidded him by saying I could use one to make my Conn 38K sousaphone into a "mock" raincatcher. I almost had him put one on my Kanstul G Contra, but they managed to save my original bell.
