Leather Reunion Blues gig bag SOLD

Postby ken k » Thu May 24, 2018 6:33 pm

I have a very nice leather Reunion Blues gig bag that I got with a tuba purchase but it really doesn't fit the Mraphone 187 I have.

It would fit something slightly smaller than a Miraphone 186/187.

It is really nice condition with a little "distressed" wear but not much and it is in really nice shape. light brown color.

side loading style. bell diameter up to about 17"

this is the old Reunion Blues style when Glen Kronkite was making them. It is probably from the 1990's

great bag

I can email pix if you want.

I can imagine some possibilities, but (for potential buyers) take a risk, and suggest some models that YOU believe might fit in this bag...

You are the one who knows just which parts of the bag are too tight for the models to which you referred...

OK...then
If that person happens to see this post, it may well fit the John Packer JP379B that they are buying.

In one post you said it was 36 inches long. I own a 185 and it is 40.25 inches long. I don't see how it could fit in a 36 inch bag - even a 39 in. bag would be too small. And with a 15 in bell it would swim a bit in a bag built for 17 in IMHO.

To be fair, I asked him to ~risk~ suggesting models.

As far as tubas for which the bag is not too small, some are more picky and some are less picky re: fitment.

When I'm almost running late "a bag that will zip around the tuba that I'm taking to the gig" is "very good".

To my other post, I strongly suspect that the John Packer "piggy" BBb JP379B would be a GOOD fit.

well it wont fit then, I thought the 185 was smaller. How tall is a 184? I think they are smaller more like my norwegian star.

a 184 is probably around 40 in length as well. They are narrow smoke stack horns. And the 184 has an even smaller bell width. Both the 184 & 185 are significantly narrower than a 187/188 and that is swim in the bag issue as well. I wish it would fit a 185 as I'd be a buyer as my current gig bag is getting long in the tooth and nothing else really works for this horn. F tuba cases are close in the width but not quite long enough. Probably going to have to make a trip to Messina Covers in Cinncy for a new custom bag for it.
