FOR SALE: $2,975 OBO
A 1935 Beuscher Monster Eb, 19.5" bell in raw brass. Originally a 3v bass tuba
with a .710 on 1st, 2nd & 3rd valves. I've done several customizations to this horn.
I added a .734 bore 4th valve and a .750 bore rotor as its 5th valve and the 5th slide is
a full whole step loop. This horn also features a new lead pipe, a custom turned receiver,
its fifth rotor lever mechanism was modeled after the Gnagey levers.
I also modified the valve cluster by adding top pulling slides on 1 & 3 as well as the new 4th loop. The 2nd slide is the original. On the bottom end the cluster it has slides pulling on the 3rd, 4th, 5th and the main tuning slide.
Marty Erickson, play tested it for me when was instructing at the International Music Camp. His
comments were favorable. We tested many mouthpieces to determine sensitivities and which might be the best for
this horn. We concluded that the Conn-Helleberg serves this EEb the best out of the ten we had to play. He mentioned it would probably be a great candidate to convert to a CC.
