This is a very nice 3+1 Compensating EEb tuba. I recently purchased this tuba from quintheeskimo out of curiosity. I also have a Besson 982, and this tuba is very similar. The tuba is in like new condition. It is in excellent playing and cosmetic condition. The valves are excellent. The tuba comes with a very nice case and mouthpiece. What is different between this and the 982 ? Thanks !

The 982 is heavier, manufactured in Germany, and has better valves and slides. Overall quality of the 982 is definitely a class above the 782.

With that said, the 782 is definitely a nice tuba. The 782 is manufactured in China. In fact, it has made in China stamped on the leadpipe. The valves and slides are good. The 782 plays very well, very similar to the 982. I wouldn't hesitate to use this tuba "professionally." It's really an unbelievable value considering a new 982 is priced near the $10,000 mark
