I purchased it around 2012. I know of one owner before me, who also purchased it used. This instrument has been with me all around NYC, including at venues such as Carnegie Hall.
Some features that make this instrument unique:
It has 5 rotor valves and the 5th valve transposes down a minor third (e.g., low F is T23).
It is a Miraphone 186 CC tuba with a 188 bell.
There is a noticeable dent at the base of the instrument. I received it in this condition and it never posed any problems to tone or intonation. When I showed the dent to my repairman in NYC, he said the same and added that it would be too expensive and involved to remove a dent in that position and for no change to tone/intonation. It is a cosmetic dent and not a functional one. It is in otherwise excellent condition.
I will include the pictured Reunion Blues gig bag, Unitec hard case (in which I would ship it if necessary), and two mouthpieces (Laskey 30H and Helleberg 7B) with double mouthpiece pouch (see photos).
I am located in West Philadelphia and available for local pick-ups or deliveries as well as for shipping. I am moving around July 15 and would prefer to sell before leaving. Please reach out with any questions!
I prefer payment in USD through PayPal, Venmo, or CashApp.
