Selling rare 4V Holton 345 6/4 BBb tuba, or perhaps trade
F below the staff is insanely in tune (1&3 fingering not necessary). It is ready and playable, but does need some work on it. 4th valve spit valve needs to be adjusted, some dings, and clicky valves.
Sell: $6,500 or give an offer! I’m flexible!
Trade: 6/4 CC Tuba, ideas but not limited to: MW 2165, MW 6450, Eastman 836, PT-6, PT-7
Will clean the horn, but will sell as is. Live in the Northern Virginia area.
PM your email and I’ll send you pictures and videos
Update: Sorry I was out of town, here it is!

Some of the videos are not good representations, others are good!
Update 2: Price Reduction because there are some pretty hefty dents, nothing unfixable though.
Update 3 (3/26/21): After reviewing comments, I decided to update the price once more. A University Professor valued this horn at $10,000-$15,000, perhaps he were referring to it as if it were in immaculate condition which it is clearly not.

I would consider trading for my 1919 York, top action 4-valve

I don't normally comment on the pricing for people's used instruments, but, I have to think the value of this horn in this condition is less than half of the current $10k asking price....

The bottom bow and inner bows are substantially smashed up, and repairing bow guards are not always the easiest of tasks. Look at that bottom brace on the 4th valve tubing... not to mention the patch on the crook. The visible dents/smashes alone would cost at least a few hundred dollars at any repair shop, especially if they're going to get into the inner bows.
For context, I purchased one of these horns with ZERO dents and a brand new Nirschl valve section for $4500.

I would have to agree with this.

Not to mention it was worked and built by two craftman who probably did a better job then the holton factory.thejester10276 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 25, 2021 2:48 am For context, I purchased one of these horns with ZERO dents and a brand new Nirschl valve section for $4500.

Not to go too far off-topic, but a quick anecdote about it...TheodoreSmith wrote: ↑Fri Mar 26, 2021 12:50 pmNot to mention it was worked and built by two craftman who probably did a better job then the holton factory.thejester10276 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 25, 2021 2:48 am For context, I purchased one of these horns with ZERO dents and a brand new Nirschl valve section for $4500.
The guy I purchased the horn from (a totally awesome person btw) told me he had spent 3 days (somewhere around 20 hours IIRC) perfecting the lead pipe, which he was making from scratch. He told me he was trying to get the horn to speak/respond clearly while still maintaining a big warm sound, and that this lead pipe was the culmination of efforts to get that perfect balance. It was one of those moments where the second I started playing it I knew I was going to buy it, despite continuing to play for nearly an hour because I was loving it so much! It is probably going to be one of those forever horns for me.
If this horn (for sale) is as good as or better than mine, then someone is going to get an awesome instrument! The price is also more approachable now.
