Condition is used. This tuba has been professionally serviced and cleaned, and it has new felts on all four valves.
This tuba is in excellent playing condition: the slides all work smoothly, and the valves are very fast and have excellent compression. This is a big 4/4 size tuba with a big sound and very good intonation. This one is from the era when they were made in Japan. I think the older ones like this play better than the new ones.
For the cosmetic condition, it is overall Good. I have noted a few details below, but please refer to the pictures for the overall cosmetic condition. Any colors other than silver you see in the pictures are reflections.
- The silver finish is 90 to 95% intact. There is one small area of raw brass on the bell.
- There is evidence of some prior repairs.
- Overall it has normal wear and tear, small dings and scratches. The player's right side of the horn has numerous small dings, and a few dents near where the outer branch meets the bottom bow.
The case is in fair condition and protects the horn. Please note this case does not have wheels. If you don't want the case, I can reduce the price, and the shipping will be less.
Only the tuba and the case pictured are included. The tuba stand shown in some of the pictures is not included.
