Great example of an amazing tuba, typical with the Rudy sound. It is a 6/4 size according from the Rudolf Meinl website, but in the tuba world it is more of a 7/4 size, as nothing compare in this size. Below are the specifications:
Year made: 2009
Body: Brass with clear lacquer
Valves: 5 rotary valves
Bore: 0.866”/22 mm
Bell diameter: 22”/560 mm
Height: 43”/109 mm
Weight: 30.5 lbs/13.83 kg
I bought this tuba brand new in 2009 from Custom Music Tubas. Sold it in 2014 and bought it back in 2022. I bought it back because I wanted to get the Rudy sound again and complement my arsenal with my Rudolf Meinl 5/4 CC.
I’m selling it now because since I moved to Florida, I don’t have as many opportunities to play tuba and instead of having it sitting in my wardrobe, I would rather sell it. I’m also selling my Cimbasso.
It is in great condition for a horn of 16 years but has had some repairs done because of some damage occurring during I rented it to a friend. The tuba has been repaired and none of the damage is affecting the sound of it. The damage is located mostly on the bottom bow. The supersac is a Rudolf Meinl (Goetz) and is in fair condition.
I’m not really interested in shipping the instrument as it will be in an oversized box, and the cost will be very high with the packaging, insurance, and shipping. If I must do it, it will be at the buyer’s expense. I’m willing to drive some distance for a serious buyer.
Thanks in advance for all serious inquiries,
PLEASE REACH OUT BY EMAIL FOR PICTURES AS I'M NOT ABLE TO ADD THEM (micheldorval1966@gmail.com)
