Vintage Martin Mammoth HANDCRAFT BBb 6/4 Tuba in SILVER

FOR SALE - AND I'M NOT KIDDING THIS TIME!!!!!! (I think)

I’ve listed it here before but pulled the ad before it sold. Really having a hard time giving up tuba playing but this time for real.

Beautiful instrument. LOADS of extras, too.

Several mouthpieces, custom Altieri 2-piece gig bag, books, marching harness and beautiful Art Deco custom hardwood stand. Off-the-shelf stands will NOT support an instrument of this size safely. Several hundreds of dollars of shop time and materials in the stand alone.

Handcraft designates this Mammoth is part of Martin’s top-of-the-line range of instruments which were made by their select craftsmen in the pre-WWII days. A real beauty and a swell player. I came from trumpet and was amazed at how easily it moves air. Just a whisper is all it takes and it will ROAR when pushed.

Hate to sell it but looks like my tuba-playing days are over.

I’ll be getting some pics up on Denver Craigslist so please take a look over there.

Asking about what I paid for it years ago - $2750 - but open to offers. I’ve added well over $1k in all those extras.
Martin Mammoth. Think of it as the Vincent Black Shadow of tubas.
