Hello!
I've had this horn for the last couple of years, and it's primarily been my quintet and Tuba Christmas horn of choice. It's the clone of the well-known Yamaha YCB-621 CC tuba, and exhibits many of the same characteristics. The smaller size makes it lightweight and incredibly easy to play in all registers. The long legs on the valve slides, along with their easy reach makes it easy to pull 1st or 4th valve slides in the pedal register to account for no 5th valve, and I've never had intonation issues in that range. All the valves are fast, quiet, and reliable. Intonation overall is extremely solid, although I have personally found that my C in the staff plays most accurately with 2/3. That seems to be unique to my tendencies with my quintet mouthpieces, though, as others have not generally had to make the same adjustment.
I purchased this from Big Note Music in Cartersville, GA, when it was brought in to be sold on consignment following the passing of a local retired musician, but to the best of our knowledge, I am only the second owner. The condition is close to mint, with ~100% lacquer, no dents and close to no tiny dings, minimal scratches, and no noted wear. Everything moves easily and accurately, and it's a pure joy to play. I used it primarily in quintet due to how well the output mixed in with my colleagues - and how lightweight it was. The ergonomics of this horn are excellent. Seriously, if you're getting older like me and tired of lugging around a heavy horn, these 3/4 horns can really punch above their weight (ha!) class. It would also make a solid soloist horn for someone who wants the smaller bore for a lighter sound but doesn't want to have to deal with the mental gymnastics of learning additional fingerings for an F or Eb horn. I'm not a great player and my range has always been fairly limited (e.g., in college I really couldn't consistently hang out at the top of the staff) but even I can pretty comfortably make it up to the Eb/F and sometimes G above the staff on this tuba - and my embouchure is mediocre at best.
I do love this little horn, and I hate to let it go, but much like my Mack horn I also just listed, this is now redundant to the instrument I've acquired that is a better fit for my own unique situation. I'm willing to entertain reasonable offers, and I'd vastly prefer a local pick up in the metro Atlanta area. If you have additional questions, you can post them in this thread, or you can reach me through PM, or email me at underwoodb@gmail.com.
I will include the Tuba Exchange gig bag shown in the pictures (this is actually a really nice bag!), along with the original hard case, which is not nearly as nice, but then you at least have options.

Thanks!
Ben
