Miraphone 1281 “Petrushka” F Tuba $10k
I’m offering my Miraphone 1281 Petrushka F tuba for sale. This has been my primary F tuba for the past few years, used regularly in my home orchestra, my university faculty quintet (where I teach), and on substitute performances with major ensembles including the Houston Symphony, Houston Ballet, and the US Air Force band. It has consistently received excellent feedback from colleagues for its sound and response.
The instrument is in very good condition. There are some minor cosmetic signs of normal use (light scratches), but no significant damage or repair history. Mechanically, it’s in excellent shape: all slides move freely, and all four pistons are vented and function smoothly. The horn has been professionally cleaned and maintained on a yearly basis.
As many players know, the 1281 is a true “point-and-shoot” F tuba—extremely even scale, very secure intonation, and easy to play. It offers a clear, singing upper register and a full, rich low register, making it a highly versatile and balanced instrument.

Located in Houston, TX. I prefer a local sale but am willing to meet within a reasonable driving distance. Shipping can be arranged at the buyer’s expense.
