Hi all,
I have a lovely Meinl-Weston 45SLP, 5 valve F tuba in silver plate that I am selling for a student that is away this summer marching drum corps. This tuba is in fantastic condition and silver plate is 95% intact (small amount of plating wear on valve block and some scarring from a leadpipe repair/adjustment, see pics). There are a few small dings on the bottom bow (see pics) but nothing that affects playability...purely cosmetic. This instrument has a fantastic, warm sound and intonation is great, especially with the 2nd valve tuning slide trigger. Tuba comes with a like-new ProTec gig bag.
Currently the tuba is located in Central Illinois and I can easily arrange a play test in our university recital hall or in a nearby church. Shipping is available via freight service at buyers expense. I will be traveling from central Illinois to metro DC-Virginia in a week or so and would be happy to bring the horn along to help save shipping costs.
Price is $7600 obo. This is a great deal on a fantastic instrument. PM if you have any questions. Here are some photos:
