Here is a nice playing Miraphone 191 BBb 4-rotor-valve tuba for someone. The horn is in fine mechanical condition and sounds great. The bell has been crumpled in the past and my plan was to replace with a new bell from Miraphone. I was quoted $1300 to get a new bell delivered to me. But I just don't need/want another BBb horn. I already have too many. Some of them, including this one, need to go! Horn is also a bit grubby, so plan on a chem or sonic cleaning. Comes in a nice blue Mirphone bag. $3000 + shipping cost

Well, the bell was repaired after the apparent crunch. The last photo in my album gives you an idea of how it looks now. It could be improved by a good tech by removing the lacquer and annealing the bell to work on the wrinkles some more. The krantz looks fine, actually. I think that is the benefit of the modern, more narrow kranz. The old wide ones really look bad when a bell gets crumpled with those. You could also replace the bell with a new one ordered from Miraphone for about $1600. Add about $300 for gold brass, if I remember correctly.

The cheapest shipping is UPS Ground for $260 fully insured. Greyhound would be about half that but the insurance maxes out at $1000.
