For sale is one of the most special instruments I've ever had, and probably the hardest to let go. This horn got me through nearly my entire undergrad at Oberlin, competitions, festivals, professional auditions and more. Sadly, my tastes have changed and I've decided to switch things up but this is a great horn and I know that it will serve someone else very well!
This horn is a player and it looks the part. Original lacquer is probably about 50%, there is some light pitting on the contact areas from nearly 45 years of hard use before I took ownership. There are a few minor dings here and there, but nothing that affects playability. The stockings show typical wear for an instrument this age, but I'd still give it about a 7/10; it could use an alignment soon, but it's fine as is. The valves have good action and excellent compression for a pair of old rotors.
Speaking of valves: the triggers have been split and replaced with Minibals by Rob Phillips in Columbus, though I still have the original hardware would be happy to include it for an extra $25 or so. I also had a 2nd valve extension made, giving you the option of playing it in F/Eb or F/D. The whole instrument has been serviced regularly by Merlin Grady in northern Iowa.

Price is $2750 shipped CONUS obo, which includes the horn*, brown leather Bach hard case (not pictured), and a Bach 1-1/4G. If you'd rather, I could ship it in a cordura Reunion Blues gig bag thatI have listed elsewhere for an additional $60. I'm located in Central Iowa/NE Ohio but I'll be in Iowa City, Chicago, Dayton/Cbus, and NYC just in the next month and I'd be more than happy to offer pickup/delivery/meet half-way to avoid shipping (and knock a few bucks off for you). Best way to reach me is via PM or [myusername][at]gmail.
*Counterweight and Neotech grip in pictures NOT included, I just forgot to take them off. Sorry!
