This tuba is fantastic - you can play anything with it: Solo, ensemble and large orchestral works. The sound is very beautiful, flexible, colorful and very resonant.

The tuba was built in the 80's and is completely handmade by Rudolf Meinl Senior. It is a special edition in gold brass ( unlacquered) with nickel silver bushings and with nickel silver kranz. It has 5 valves with compensation holes on valves 1,2,4,5 (the associated slides are smooth). There is a trigger for the 2nd valve that can be operated with the left hand. Valves are tight.

The tuba has been played professionally for a long time and has been in my possession for about 8 years. It was completely refurbished 2 years ago and is in near mint condition - no dings or scratches, just some patina.This tuba would certainly cost around $18000 new.
