FS: PT-6s (SOLD)

Hey everyone,
I’m reluctantly putting my PT-6 up for sale. I’ve owned this instrument for about five years and it’s been great in every musical setting. I believe I am the second owner of the instrument. I have a metal allergy that makes playing on a silver-plated instrument challenging, so I’m looking to move to something with a lacquer finish–I would not be selling the instrument otherwise. The instrument comes with a navy blue cordura Cronkhite bag and an Alan Baer Unitec flight case. I had a couple modifications made that, in my opinion, make it play better than a stock instrument: I had the fourth valve slide slightly shortened to allow for adjustments that weren’t possible before and I had all five valves vented. There’s some evidence of the slide shortening work visible on braces for the third and fourth valve slides in the back. Modification work was done by Lee Stofer in 2018.
The horn is in fantastic condition; there are a couple minor dings in the bell from mutes if you look closely and there are some scratches in the finish from the previous owner, mostly on the player side of the horn. I’ve had a couple smaller dings taken out of the bottom bow over the years, but it’s never had any significant damage. The gig bag is in excellent condition as is the flight case, though it’s missing one of the little rubber feet. As I said before, this is a great instrument and I’m sad to see it go. The instrument is currently located in Bowling Green, Ohio, but I can have the instrument in Lincoln, Nebraska in a few weeks if that makes a transaction easier. I will be away from the instrument from June 29th to July 12th, so I can communicate with interested parties, but will most likely be unable to facilitate a pickup during that time. Outside of that period, the instrument is available to try in Bowling Green and I’m willing to drive a few hours to meet a buyer halfway. I am not interested in shipping this tuba.
