German GDR 4/4 CC

Here's a nice playing East German four valve CC made sometime before the reunification of Germany in 1989. It was very likely made in Markneukirchen in the factory that has become B&S. I equate its size to the Mirafone 184 although this instrument has a larger bore of 19mm (0.748"). I've upgraded some of the braces to heavier ones and removed dents and dings, but some insignifican ones do remain. Valve compression is excellent. It was never lacquered. Obviously this was a premium instrment with nickle inner and outer slide tubes and bell kranz. It has the typical intonation tendencies fround on most German tubas of this era. I like the way the PT48 mouthpiece (not included) works on it. Priced at $2975. Shipped at buyers expense within CONUS. PM or email me for more details. tubanurse(at)yahoo
