Martin Mammoth 6/4 BBb 4v top action, satin silver finish with 2 bells

Post by Diego A. Stine »

A tuba this special is VERY hard to find. It has a HUGE sound, excellent intonation and response, great valves with smooth action and solid compression, and precise workmanship. As it was performed in the United States Marine Corps band, Martin custom engraved USMC on the bell. It was made in 1963 and built to last. It also has an improved leadpipe with a Euro-size receiver.

It comes with a Protec bag and an additional Wessex silver recording bell (fits perfectly) for outdoor concerts. The recording bell has its own case. The Martin bell is upright with gold wash on the inside.

This "military-grade" tuba is located in the DC area. Feel free to try it out! I will also bring it to the Army Tuba-Euphonium Workshop in February if you would like to try it out there. More pictures will be coming shortly.

Bump. I’ll be bringing this to the Tuba-Euphonium Workshop Thursday through Saturday if anyone wants to try it out in person.
