I had one of these briefly (lacquer) before I picked up the rotary Neptune. I love the way it played! - even better than the rotary Neptune. I just needed rotary valves because I do most everything on the Neptune, including jazz brass quintet. I kind of wish I had kept the piston one now. Even though it didn't have a huge piston valve set, I had zero trouble producing full size low notes on it. I loved that tuba - I was a fool to let it go.
