Hello All,
For sale is my Wessex California 'Solo' F tuba in lacquer. I bought this anticipating the sale of my Yamaha 621F, but the sale fell through, plus I decided to hold onto it for now. I purchased this F tuba new back in mid-May 2023, and only used it on a couple of gigs. I cannot afford, nor do I have the space, to keep two F tubas.
I just got it back from my repairman this evening. It's all clean and ready for a new home!
During the last gig I had with this tuba (July 3rd), there was a slight crinkle put in the bell (I set it down horizontally and when I came back the crinkle was there...I was NOT happy about that). That being said, my repairman did the best he could to get the crinkle out of the bell (did my best to indicate it by the Wessex logo on the bell).
This tuba has a great sound and intonation is pretty much point-and-shoot (audio sample in the Google Drive link).
