Up for sale is a B&S JBL Classics 4+2 F tuba.

Instrument is approximately 2 years old. I picked it out of three examples at the DC. In the past few weeks I’ve switched to more of an all-around F tuba, simply because going forward I’m gonna have to cover as many bases with my F as I possibly can.

I cannot find a single ding on the tuba. Outside of some very, very, very light, superficial lacquer wear, this instrument is very much in “like new” condition. This tuba is bone stock; no modifications or upgrades in any way.

I have found this to be an exceptional F for large ensemble playing. Cuts through an ensemble and projects like crazy.
Sound is very interesting; very flexible, and capable of sounding very “hot” if needed. Outstanding, even response.
Pitch is very easy. With a PT-64, I keep the MTS (440) about 1.5” out, the 1st slide about 1/2” out, and 2,3,4,6 about 1/4” out. I’ve been able to keep the 5th valve slide all the way in. While playing, I don’t touch ANYTHING. Everything is right there with the adjustments listed. No need to pull or push at all. I don’t really even feel the need to lip pitches much.

Tuba comes with customary SuperSac B&S labeled gig bag, as well as the snack pack they send out with all tubas.

Located in the St. Louis area. I have the original shipping carton, so I’m willing to bomb-proof the tuba and ship it should the need arise. Buyer will be responsible for shipping and insurance in the amount of the final sale value should they chose to go that route. I’m happy to listen to offers, but the final sale value will not be determined until both buyer and seller agree on price. Cash, cashier’s check, personal check (will have to clear first), or PayPal friends and family are all acceptable forms of payment.
