For sale: Meinl Weston 2250-S F Tuba with MAW valves: SOLD

Tuba is approximately two years old and totally dent and ding free, with only minor superficial scratches and surface wear from belt buckles or suit buttons. This tuba has never been repaired or had any dents removed.

I picked this tuba out of a group of three 2250s at the Buffet distribution center. I chose this example because of its outstanding response and-in my opinion-freakishly easy intonation for a piston F. For myself, with the MTS slide set about 3/4 way out, manipulation of tuning slides is rarely needed. Response is even throughout the entire range of the instrument. I’ve found that the tuba excels with a small shank RT-64 mouthpiece.

The sale will include the following:
-Meinl Weston SuperSac gig bag in like new condition
-Factory valves
-MAW valves
-ICON 24AW style mouthpiece that came with the tuba

I have used the MAW valves exclusively in this tuba. Better response and simply faster than the factory valves.

Located in San Antonio, Texas. Reasonable offers will be considered. I’m happy to meet within a couple of hours of San Antonio for delivery. I have a tuba shipping box that I can bomb-proof if anyone would like the tuba shipped. Regarding shipping, the buyer pays all costs and the horn has to be insured for the final sale price. Tuba will NOT be sent out for trial. The sale of the tuba will be considered final.

Overall, a very very fine playing instrument. Blends well in quintet, and I really enjoyed working on solo lit on it. Projects very well for large ensemble use.
