1928 Martin Mammoth BBb Tuba For Sale. (Three front action valves) I am too old and the Martin is too big. I’ve owned this horn for 30 years and regret that it is time to part with this delightful instrument. The horn was completely overhauled professionally in 2008 and test played by a Cleveland Orchestra tuba player who was impressed. The valves move fast and freely and the slides all pull as they should. While there are some relatively minor dents and scratches, the horn has no musical issues and presents itself very well. A hard to find two part wood case that is in good functional condition is included along with a mouthpiece. My investment in the purchase, overhaul, and case total about $2400. I’ve gotten years of use and enjoyment and feel that a price of $1400 would be fair. Upon request, I can forward additional photos if interested. Please-no trades. Beautiful instrument and the price is a steal. If I was younger and still collecting, that is definitely something I would go for. I especially like the sound of those old Martins. Good luck with selling it.
